Elyria Foundry – Spray Foam & Silicone Roof Restoration

Introduction

Elyria Foundry in Ohio required a resilient, high-performance roof system to rehabilitate its aging roof. West Roofing Systems applied a spray polyurethane foam (SPF) system combined with silicone coatings to deliver a seamless, long-lasting roof system that restores protection and extends the life of the structure.

Project Challenges

The existing roofing materials had deteriorated and allowed leaks Surface irregularities, seams, and transitions needed smoothing and sealing Maintaining minimal disruption to business operations during roof work Ensuring the coating adhered properly to the substrate and remained durable Too much water was building up in areas. A water re-route needs to happen.

Built new structures to re-route water 4 different ways Applied spray polyurethane foam (SPF) to build up a consistent substrate Installed high-performance silicone coating system over the foam (base + topcoat) Embedded granules into the topcoat for UV protection and durability Sealed all transitions, penetration areas, and roof edges to ensure continuity
