Spray Foam Roofing Recoat Installed on 97,100 SF School Roof and Domes in Parma, OH
In Summer 2025, West Roofing Systems completed a 97,100 square foot spray foam roofing recoat at Normandy High School in Parma, Ohio — including the school's iconic domes.
Project Overview
The existing spray foam roof had reached the end of its warranty period and needed a fresh topcoat to maintain waterproofing and extend its life. The project included both the flat roof sections and the dome structures, which required specialized application techniques.
The Domes
Perhaps the coolest part of the project was installing a Petina Green-colored topcoat on the domes. The color represents landmarks used to navigate the building and adds a distinctive look to the school's exterior.
Scope of Work
The team power-washed the entire roof surface, made necessary repairs to the existing foam, applied a primer coat, and finished with a silicone topcoat to restore the warranty. The project was completed during summer break to minimize disruption to students and staff.
Results
The school now has a renewed roof with a new manufacturer's warranty, avoiding the cost and disruption of a full tear-off and replacement. The spray foam substrate remains intact and continues to provide excellent insulation value.
